word of the day

I was recently reading something that I wrote when I came across the word "colliery".

I realized that I wasn't too sure what colliery meant and that I was probably misusing the word. So I looked it up.

Colliery: A coal mine together with its physical plant and outbuildings.

So I'm not really sure what word I was going for, but yeah, definitely not colliery.

i was corrected on the definition of colliery when i mentioned a few months ago that it had something to do with fish (no idea where i got that from) and my former-employee-of-a-mine boyfriend told me that i was very wrong on that one. and i normally pride myself on vocabulary knowledge!

That's a much better story than mine. I was using colliery instead of corollary.

And for the past two days I have been trying to slip "colliery" into my everyday conversations. Unsuccessfully I might add.
