2 random sightings

1) This weekend at Safeway, at around 2pm, there was a man (white, 30 something) in line behind me in the checkout. He placed his basket on the turning thing in the checkout line and asked the cashier if she would like him to take his groceries out of the basket. Okay - I suppose he has maybe never been to supermarket before and didn't know the proper etiquette (seriously, like the cashier wants to take out your groceries!). But then I notice that under his grey overcoat he is wearing a tuxedo. A tuxedo wearing grocery store novice. RANDOM!

2) A man (30 something, asian) on the bus around 8am turning into the university. This mild mannered looking middle aged man was wearing a backpack with the playboy bunny logo on the back. Not like a pin, but that the maker of the backpack itself was playboy. Now either this man was unaware what the logo meant, or he was making a very strange and public statement about his personal porn preferences. RANDOM!

the tuxedo dude at safeway reminds me of the simpsons episode when Mr. Burns has to learn to fend for himself because Smithers goes on vacation and Homer took his job while he was gone (hilarity ensued)

remember that guy that saved the epileptic after he fell on the train tracks in new york? I think it was in the fall...anyway, he wrecked his favourite playboy toque in the process.
i've never understood the appeal of the playboy paraphernalia.

Wearing a tuxedo to the grocery store is random, but it doesn't beat five guys in tuxedos going to McDonalds. Now that's random.

Oh I think Chris and Kirsten were also there, I didn't want them to feel left out.

YEah we were there. And we did the same thing at our wedding and sort of the same thing for Jordan and Kristen's wedding, except it was Starbucks. Maybe people should wear tux's more often. Just a thought.

a) hilarity always ensues :)
b) I understand why those in the 17-25 demographic might think it was "cool" and "edgy" but by 30....?
c) gotta love a good tux! (or alternately, not)
